Independent Living –Section 8
(Definition: Section 8 provides assistance to low income families,
elderly, disabled, and handicapped individuals to rent privately
owned, existing, safe and sanitary housing by making housing
assistance payment to private landlords. This program provides
financial assistance to eligible families whose annual gross income
does not exceed 50% of HUD’s median income guidelines.)
